Publisher review:
Book makes it easy to manage large collections of content, such as that found in a book. The Book module makes it easy to manage large collections of content, such as that found in a book. Books are organized into chapters and chapters are separated into articles. Figures are also supported

Many features have been added to this module to make authoring an on-line book easier. Once chapters and articles are created, they can then be arranged and presented in any order by the authors. Figures for books are managed separately from the content. They can then be linked out of the content, or placed in the text, depending upon the author's needs. The HTML for multimedia elements are automatically handled by the module. You just point to the multimedia file and the Book module generates the appropriate HTML. Supported formats include, gif, png, jpeg, quicktime movies and flash files. There are many handy features to the module including, a function that highlights selected text, a glossary, a search function, a link checker and an chapter export/import functions that makes it easy to edit entire chapters. Permissions support allows fine granular management of content. It is possible to limit content to a chapter at a time. Hooks are supported allowing addition of a content using any module that is capapble of using hooks, such as EZ comments.
